Certified Hand Therapist
Michelle Osgood, OTR, CHT is a Board-Certified Occupational Therapist and a Certified Hand Therapist with over 37 years of experience. Utilizing the latest trends and techniques, she specializes in treatment of the elbow, wrist, and hand. Michelle graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She became a CHT in the inaugural class of certified hand therapists.
Michelle has extensive knowledge in the evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic hand, wrist and elbow injuries, rheumatoid arthritis, orthopedic injuries, and workers compensation injuries. Michelle also has a wide knowledge base in areas such as biceps rupture, distal radius fractures, and options for CRPS, thoracic outlet syndrome, strain injuries, electrotherapy, stress loading, myofascial release, and wrist ligament injuries.
Michelle is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists. Michelle utilizes a wide variety of equipment/modalities such as Fludiotherapy, paraffin therapy, whirlpool therapy, ultrasound, manual therapy, etc., with her patients to treat and help them regain function for daily activities.
Michelle has spoken on a wide range of topics such as Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome, splinting for hand injuries, hand therapy for replantation injuries, fine motor development in infants, and treatment of two-stage tendon reconstructions.
Michelle is married with two children. Her interests are cooking, tennis, and playing with her granddaughter.
