Doug Hanna, PT, MS, MTCDoug feels tremendously fortunate to have physical therapy as a profession. After nearly 20 years of clinical practice, he still enjoys his work immensely. Many factors contribute to his continued passion for the profession. Physical therapy provides so many tools that create treatment plans that cater to the specific needs of each patient. Physical therapy encourages continuous learning and professional growth. Doug is greatly satisfied to help people increase their quality of life. Additionally, he has the opportunity to work in a great environment with an amazing group of committed, caring and fun associates. Through Doug's many years of practice he has studied with most of the world leaders in physical therapy. He has extensive training in the evaluation and treatment of both spinal and extremity problems, as well as extensive post-graduate training in spinal and peripheral manipulation, soft tissue release and diagnosis-specific exercise training. Doug's broad training background allows him to choose the treatment approach that best suits each patient and produces the most satisfying outcome. Doug specializes in spinal and lower extremity problems. Doug received a Bachelor of Science degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Graduate Certificate in Physical Therapy from the Mayo School and Health Related Sciences in Rochester, Minnesota. Doug later completed Certification in Competency in Manual Therapy from the Institute of Graduate Health Sciences and a post-professional Masters of Science degree from the University of St. Augustine in Saint Augustine, Florida. Doug benefited from extensive post-graduate education with many of the worlds top therapists. He has extensive training in physical examination and diagnosis of the spine and extremities, as well as advanced training in spinal and peripheral joint manipulation, soft tissue mobilization and diagnosis specific exercise training. Doug is the father of two daughters, Ashley and Brooke. He is an avid runner, cyclist, and fly fisherman.
Dawn Singleton, PT, DPT - Clinic Director ProspectDawn earned her Master of Physical Therapy in 2005 and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2006 from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She earned her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Northern Colorado. Dawn enjoys working with all types of sports, orthopedic and back injuries, and helping people return to the activities they enjoy as quickly and safely as possible. She uses manual techniques and customized exercise programs with all of her treatment plans. Dawn has additional training in therapies for TMJ dysfunction, vestibular disorders and vertigo, and has recently completed the Level 1 training for Trigger Point Dry Needling (Intramuscular Manual Therapy). She is currently working on her manual therapy certification with the University of St. Augustine. Dawn is married and the mother of 2 children. In her free time, she enjoys being active with her family, hiking outdoors, cooking, and playing most sports, especially volleyball and racquetball.
Shoshana Mara Chandler - Front Desk, Office AssistantShoshana was born and raised in New York City. After attending the Rudolf Steiner School of Manhattan, she went on to receive a bachelor's degree in Romance Languages from CUNY Hunter College. She has always had an intense passion for learning languages, traveling and immersing herself in different cultures, and was lucky enough to spend much of her high school and college years abroad. Along with being a diehard Yankees fan, Shoshana relishes spending her free time outdoors and possesses an unshakeable adoration for extreme weather. In 2010, Shoshana moved to Boulder, CO, both for a change in scenery, and to pursue a second career in Nursing. Currently enrolled at Front Range Community College, she is braving the prerequisites to be accepted into a Nursing program in the near future.
Ariel Retuta - Front Desk, Office AssistantAriel was raised in a small town in Southern Colorado, Crestone with a scanty population between 500 and 1000. At 14, she decided to study abroad in Northern India at a Sikh boarding school in Amritsar, Punjab called Miri Piri Academy. After graduation, Ariel returned home where she attended massage school at the Crestone Healing Arts Center; a school her father founded in 1992. After her 18th birthday, she moved to the beautiful city of San Francisco, CA on Amtrak with nothing but a duffle bag and a massage table. Making a living doing massage, Ariel put herself through school at the City College of San Francisco. After about 4 years, she made Boulder, CO her home for new scenery and to continue school. Now at Front Range Community College working towards a degree in Environmental Engineering and a Certification of American Sign Language Interpreting. Ariel is happy to be a part of the Physical Therapy of Boulder team! |
